TENSION OF ARRESTS FILL KAMPALA CAPITAL CITY AUTHORITY HEADS /WORKERS.

After the arrest of former Kcca executive bosses, Dorothy Kisaka, her deputy Engineer David Luyimbazi and director of public health Dr. Daniel Okello.

When funds allocated for essential services like waste management are not properly utilized, it can lead to dire consequences, including environmental pollution, health hazards, and even loss of life. Such cases often spark public outcry and call for reform, as citizens expect transparency and effective management from their local authorities.

The situation highlights significant issues related to misuse of office, accountability, and public health in waste urban management. The arrest of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) bosses due to mismanagement of waste is a serious breach of fiduciary responsibility.

Investigation and Accountability

There is tension and fear filled Kcca environment who could be next to get behind cooler most especially workers who sit on the management committee for waste and are so close to the top three arrested early last week? 

It is not yet clear what might have triggered their arrest. There are many assumptions filled in the heads of many Kcca workers, nearly days after their dismissal from offices immediately their personal accounts were frozen too citing misuse of the government’s money.

After findings of what escalated the garbage explosion at the Kiteezi dumping site, more is yet to be told. Misuse and negligency are among the critically pointed out to their arrests among other counts before the magistrate. The loss of young innocent lives whose survival was dependant on picked recyclable items below the sun.

That said, the other narrative that might have led to the arrest of the top bosses is about monies totalling 4 billion passed in every year’s financial budget to manage waste which money wasn’t put to its intended use.

A house search of the victim’s homes by CID investigating officers gives a clear picture that there is a misuse of office by the three arrested. The public awaits to hear what evidence is got against the trio of Kampala capital city authority bosses.
