HON AMELIA KYAMBADDE TOLD A LIE.

Hon. Amelia Kyambadde’s Bid for Fourth Term Graduates and sends her former Confidant and PA cum political Heir Kabuye Francis into Debt/ incarceration 

It should be noted that on 24th February 2023, the minister of Trade, Industry, and cooperatives and Mawokota North Member of Parliament Hon Amelia Kyambadde whilst on the Ntv Mwasuze Mutya program, then hosted by Faridah Nakazibwe made a declaration that she wouldn’t be running for elective politics again. 

This was during Hon. Kyambadde’s recollection of her term as the area MP from 2011- 2021 and eventual loss to her once blossom friend and composer of her signature campaign song ‘Amelia’ Hon. Hilary Kiyaga aka Dr Hilderman.

Hon. Amelia, who still believes that Hon. Kiyaga and the voters backstabbed her, narrated her journey thus describing it in Luganda as “Emikwano jjakisera “(Conditional friendship) a fact of life. 

Passing the Torch

She went on to add that this was an eye-opener and the wings of change that had kept on echoing in her ears had rudely unleashed its reality with which she chose to throw a towel even at the time that she quit the powerful post in the president’s office.

“It’s not until one gets challenges in life to understand that wings of change are at the door. Elders always say that if you try to disobey wings of change, then your next step could be more disastrous that’s food for thought “. 

She later also revealed that one of her biggest mistakes was standing for the third term as an NRM party candidate for Mawokota North confessing that it was time to pave the way for new blood. 

She indeed zeroed in on her former political assistant, Mr. Kabuye Francis Robert seemingly endorsing him as her successor for the parliamentary seat in the 2026 General elections and thus introducing him to the district NRM leaders and voters as the right choice in any subsequent election. 

Who is Mr. KABUYE ROBERT FRANCIS?

He was a former student leader while at Makerere University, a politician and an economist who served at different levels of his profession, a former youth leader and an administrator in Buganda kingdom (Mawokota county)  well-connected to Buganda kingdom’s leadership structures, senior NRM cadre, mobilizer in Mpigi and greater Mpigi, and served for 15 years as personal political assistant, to then Minister of Trade, Industry and cooperative. Amelia Kyambadde. 

Mr. Kabuye Francis Robert worked tirelessly during the presidential campaign of 2011, 2016, and 2021 upon the sacrifice of his vintage Mercedes Benz he painted yellow (Biriga style) in order to attract the youth voters in Mpigi for his NRM party, nicknamed it “YELLOW BENZ ” for all the campaigns.

Unfortunately, the yellow Benz wasn’t spared with several mechanical breakdowns to date after the 2021 presidential campaign, without finances to repair, and upon reaching out for help from NRM leaders, he hit a dead end leaving his vintage yellow Benz in a garage at Rubaga. 

Meanwhile, Kabuye Robert took this endorsement seriously and immediately started his clandestine campaign which project required him to solicit funds from several avenues including money lenders. All was going well until rumors started circulating of Hon. Amelia suddenly changed her stance on her interest in the parliamentary seat for the fourth term as the NRM flag bearer for Mawokota county. 

Facing Adversity

Nearly after 5months into ground campaigns in Mawokota, Kabuye got into debt issues as money lenders started demanding their monies, vehicles, and their interests, leaving Kabuye’s ambitions, efforts crippling and a setback to leaving him in panic.

Where does this leave, Mr. Kabuye Francis as a young, strong NRM cadre whose seniority has grown in the last ten (15) years of serving the NRM party at all levels? 

One of Kabuye’s confidants and a senior Buganda kingdom official who preferred anonymity revealed to this website how Mr. Kabuye Francis is living in frustrations and in hiding, and he said that he’s moved from one office to another seeking help from NRM sympathizers after being served with demand notices by lawyers failing to honor the payback plan.

That said, this news website tried to reach him, through several phone calls to pick his side of the story but we hit a dead end.

Kabuye Francis, a presidential campaigner in Mpigi and the greater Mpigi district, who gave out all, for the success of his bosses in particular his former employer, and is now a beacon in the arms of greed debt and maybe eventual incarceration if he is not bailed out by the NRM party or Hon. Amelia herself.
