FIRE IN SCHOOLS
Dozen of primary school students died as fire outbreak gutted a girl’s school in Nyere county, central Kenya(Hillside Endarasha ), there are fears that death toll could rise soon or later.
Taking a leaf from our neighbour tragedy,Uganda should introduce fire fighting lessons and gadgets as well which should be adopted by the East African region as a whole.
FIRE DRILLS, should be a mandate for all schools through the entire region in all levels of schooling. It is ideal for the ministry of Education to include a short “FIRE DRILL COURSE” into the country’s syllabus since the world we live in is surrounded by a lot of fire time bombs. Whenever it comes to accidents, the entire population doesn’t know what to do in fire outbreak situations, a clear example was seen as fire gutted a public transport van (a commuter taxi) caught fire that made rounds on social media and a few people died due to fire without any attempt to rescue them.
It is crucial to teach both teachers and students to go through fire drills to prepare them in situations of fire outbreaks.
Safety is key , Knowing how to respond in a fire emergency can save lives. By practicing fire drills regularly, teachers can ensure that students know what to do and where to go in the event of a fire.

Teaching students about fire prevention measures such as how to properly store flammable materials, keep exits clear, and use fire extinguishers can help prevent fires from occurring in the first place.
Student’s Confidence, Knowing what to do in a fire emergency can help students and teachers feel more confident and in control during a crisis. By practicing fire drills, individuals can feel more prepared and less panicked in the event of a real fire breakout break.
It is crucial to teach both teachers and students fire drills in order to prepare them for fire outbreaks for several important reasons.
