Dr Sudhir Hosts East African Judges and Magistrates

Billionaire entrepreneur and philanthropist, Dr Sudhir Ruparelia’s Speke Commonwealth Resort Munyonyo is scheduled to host judges and magistrates from across the East African region on December 18. Uganda’s Chief Justice, Alphonso Owiny Dollo says they will use the upcoming conference to share experiences and knowledge about the best ways of delivering justice to litigants and other court users and about the transformation of their respective judiciary organs.

Uganda’s Attorney General, Kiryowa Kiwanuka, Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Norbert Mao, and the Minister in charge of East African affairs, Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga are tentatively expected to be some of the key Ugandan cabinet ministers scheduled to grace the event. Uganda’s leader, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is expected to officially open the East African Judges and magistrates’ high-level meeting during which he deliver a keynote address as well. We welcome the judges and magistrates to Uganda and we remain hopeful that the meeting will address the big problem of case backlog, the disturbing cases of unfairness, abuse of office, bribery ruthlessness exhibited by judicial officers in the course of delivery of justice.

We also hope the judges and magistrates will bravely take on the topic of the disturbing capture of the judiciary by the State, leading to a miscarriage of justice. We wish all the judges and magistrates fruitful discussions geared at making the judiciary the true Temple of Justice in which members of the public have great confidence to deliver justice to all manner of man without fear, favor, or ill will.
