Judge Declares Missing Don Nasser Wanted As KampalaSocialite Switches Off Phones
Kampala Socialite Don Nasser has spent close to four years playing games as he avoids sorting out a man from Norway whose three hundred thousand United States dollars ( approximately 1.2 billion Uganda Shillings) he is alleged to have swindled, lying he was going to work with him in the business of buying and selling gold. Time and chances for Don Nasser to play those games look like to have run out after his case was allocated to a new and fresh judge who doesn’t entertain stunts and brooks those who engage in them.
On his first time of handling this case, Justice Thomas Ochaya at the Commercial Court Division
of the High Court made it clear to Don Nasser’s lawyer, Robert Fridays Kagoro that he means
business not jokes and so he won’t entertain people delaying cases and justice. Kagoro didn’t turn up with Don Nasser’s real name Nasser Nduhukire and merely said he had called him up before coming to court but his phones were off. Yet, as per Kagoro himself, he had talked to Don Nasser a few days back about the date, day, and time of when the case was going to resume and the client assured the lawyer that he would be present in court but then failed to honor his word. Such kind of behavior by Don Nasser of switching off his phones after being duly informed of the date of the case and after promising to be in court in person didn’t sit well with the presiding judge, especially after learning that the matter had been in court for some several years without going to hearing.
Recall that it is a 2018 case where Don Nasser was memorably plucked out of the ceiling of a
house in Kira like a rat as he panicked and desperately tried to evade arrest and Justice. His proverbial forty days ran out after the president was informed about what was going on, sending in his tough security operatives to arrest Don Nasser. Don Nasser had up to that point in time stayed safe and about town while cruising expensive cars suspected to have been purchased using proceeds of this particular financial sleaze and after taking good care of his people in the police to kill the case. While upon arrest, Don Nasser wrote an additional police statement at least committing to a refund of fifty thousand United States dollars alleging that was what he had stolen from Wayne Slack not three hundred thousand United States dollars as it is alleged by the Mzungu’s girlfriend, Slack
“Don Nasser has up to date not paid even a single coin out of what he, moreover, conceded to have stolen from the Mzungu.“
-Harriet Slack
The Story Of Chameleon And Elephant Gives A Meaning Of The Same
Instead, he states nowadays that he owned up merely because he was seeking to rescue himself from the police coolers since he had not committed the case for which he was being held. But the owner of the money, Wayne Slack through his girlfriend, Harriet Slack, shoots back and says Don Nasser himself comforted her that he was going to sort her out in full no matter what the confession that he wrote to the police reads, and indicates the fifty thousand United States dollars indicated on it was the full and final settlement of the matter.
The man Don Nasser allegedly conned, was himself present in court, waiting intently for the wheels of justice to be sent in motion by the judge for the ends of Justice to be served much as Don Nasser himself was suspiciously away. This man had flown to Uganda directly from Norway to attend the day’s court proceedings only to receive the news about Don Nasser’s suspicious absence. The man came along with his girlfriend, Harriet Slack, who dealt directly with Don Nasser in the deal where she was told Don Nasser was Hassan Basajjabalaba[ by Don Nasser] and that he deals in gold and therefore was in need of a business partner to push the business ahead with. Asked where exactly Don Nasser was and for what business stopped him from attending court business, Kagoro merely answered back his client was in foreign lands without stating which one exactly Don Nasser went to and for what business.
Now Kagoro’s responses excited the presiding judge’s anger, warning that he would no longer entertain more delaying stunts going forward. The traveling alien as well as his girlfriend were obviously amused and livened up by the words and toughness of the new Ugandan presiding judge in response to Kagoro’s earlier responses as to where exactly Don Nasser was and for what business was he there. So were the Mzungu’s lawyers of the law firms of Crane Advocates and Bbaale and Company Advocates. In the end, the judge set the date of February 7 next year for the parties to relay to him what issues both agree on and not so that he can concentrate only on the points of contention rather than wasting his time dealing with those the parties to the case are in agreement with. On that upcoming occasion, the judge wants Don Nasser present in court and he strictly tasked Kagoro to ensure that his client doesn’t stay away because the court won’t be in the mood to listen to excuses for his client’s non-attendance from him as his lawyer.
